Crash Victim Identified
(Fayetteville, NC) – The deceased individual in the vehicle crash on South Reilly Road has been identified as Mr. Luis Pizarro (34 years old) of Fayetteville, NC. His family has been notified.
The preliminary investigation has indicated Mr. Pizarro was traveling southbound on South Reilly Road on his motorcycle at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic. He collided with another southbound vehicle, a Nissan Rogue, at which point he was thrown from his motorcycle and struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on South Reilly Road.
Mr. Pizarro was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Nissan was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for minor injuries.

Traffic Fatality
(Fayetteville, NC) – South Reilly Road between Morganton Road and Riegelwood Street is closed due to a traffic incident.
On March 6, 2023 at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to the area of South Reilly Road and Great Rock Road for a vehicle crash. Upon arriving on scene, officers located a male involved in the collision on the roadway. The male was pronounced deceased on scene. His identification is being withheld until family is notified.
South Reilly Road between Morganton Road and Riegelwood Street is currently closed to travel. Motorists will need to utilize an alternate route.
The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit have assumed the investigation, and the investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
